LEONARDTOWN, Md. – On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Chingville Road in Leonardtown. Units arrived on the scene to find a single 2008 Honda Odyssey upside down.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver was attempting to make a left turn when the car left the road and overturned several times before striking a tree. According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, three children were found not to be correctly restrained; two of them were ejected from the vehicle and were transported to area trauma centers with life-threatening injuries. A third child, whose name was later revealed to be Brysen Carter age 8, was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, currently, alcohol and speed are considered contributing factors in the crash.

Brysen, who was a player for the Pax River Raiders football team, was beloved by many in the community.

“May God wrap his arms around the family and know we are here to support.”

  1. So is Ashley going to get this money? Logical question. Someone needs to set up a Trust fund for these children. She’s done enough damage. Just sad. Very sad.

  2. It’s sad that this young man lost his life do to someone else’s poor judgment and careless actions. Thoughts and prays go out to family in this time of need.

  3. So let me get this straight Ashley kills her kid and puts the other two in critical condition and I’m sure she gets housing and help from the state and the community has to pay for this with donations I hope she has no access to this money & she goes to jail rip little fella

      1. Wait, a 2nd child lost their life as well? Do you know which?? I understand that the baby in the car seat had head injuries

    1. The child needs to be buried.. The children have needs . Thus they need our help.
      Ashely doesn’t deserve a dang dime ..
Maybe a better way to phrase the point

  4. Give the driver life without parole. Drunk drivers don’t deserve freedom especially when they murder people

  5. I’d give to the fund, if I knew for sure, she wouldn’t get a dime of it. I’m not about to pay her lawyer fees and fines.

  6. Stop. Drinking. And. Driving.

Rip to this poor angel. I hope he’s in Jesus’ arms.
