On July 30 at 6:13 p.m., a witness advised Dep. Justin Livingston that they had just observed a suspect steal items from the Advance Auto store in Prince Frederick, leave the store and travel to the Prince Frederick Walmart, where the witness had followed.
Dep. Livingston made contact with the suspect. After a search incident to arrest, the suspect, later identified as Christopher Gerard Schmitz, 20 of Owings, was found to be in possession of halogen lights and window tint, valued at $42, and suspected drugs.
Schmitz was arrested and charged with theft, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Oxycontin, and hindering a police officer in the performance of lawful duties.
