LARGO, Md. — The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) is inviting residents and business owners interested in getting information about the permitting process to its Permit Palooza! event from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at DPIE Headquarters, 9400 Peppercorn Place, Largo.
Permit Palooza! will allow residential and commercial property owners and aspiring business owners who may not have time to visit during weekdays access to the agency’s permitting services. Teams from the Permitting and Licensing, Inspections, Building Plan Review and Site/Road Plan Review divisions will staff tables to provide information.
“Our Permit Center will be open, and we will have staff and supervisors available to answer questions, assist with helping people to start the permit application process and also to check the status of permit applications,” said DPIE Director Dawit Abraham. “We will have workshops and tours of the Permit Center. We want to create an experience similar to what customers have when they come in for assistance from Monday through Friday.”
Workshops will center around demystifying permitting, completing the permit application, preparing for an inspection and more. DPIE’s Inspector Mike will take photos with children. There will be giveaways and contests related to property maintenance, home improvement and business development. The event will also stress the importance of permitting projects to ensure the safety of structures, renovations and business operations.
The public can visit the DPIE website or contact DPIEPIO@co.pg.md.us or 301-636-2053 for more information and to register for workshops.
