On Oct. 24, the St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations, with the assistance of the United States Secret Service, conducted an investigation into a sexual assault of a three-year-old girl.
The investigation revealed that suspect, Jason Edward Midkiff, 25 of Great Mills, had sexually assaulted a three-year-old child who was in his care at the time of the assault. Suspect Midkiff was arrested on Nov. 2 and charged with one count of Child Sexual Abuse and one count of Fourth-Degree Sex Offense.
He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending an appearance by the District Court Commissioner.
