At 2:35 a.m. Dec. 3, TFC J. Linger of the Leonardtown barrack observed a vehicle operating southbound Route 5 north of Route 6, Mechanicsville, with an inoperable brake light.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Calvin Wade Green Jr., 21, of Jacksonville, NC. Upon contact with Green an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle and loose pieces of marijuana were observed on his clothing.
Green was placed under arrest. A search of Green revealed loose pieces of marijuana in his mouth.
A search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, was conducted. A marijuana cigar was found on the front passenger seat.
He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia, processed and held pending a bail review.
