CHARLES COUNTY, Md. Rebuilding Together Charles County (RTCC), a local nonprofit dedicated to improving homes for elderly and disabled residents, is seeking volunteers and donations for National Rebuilding Month this April.

RTCC provides critical home repairs to ensure safe and healthy living conditions for vulnerable community members. The organization is calling on Charles County residents to get involved by volunteering their time or making a financial contribution to support these efforts.

National Rebuilding Month is a nationwide initiative culminating in National Rebuilding Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Throughout April, RTCC will organize repair projects, community events and engagement opportunities to strengthen neighborhoods and improve housing conditions.

Volunteers play a crucial role in RTCC’s mission, assisting with home repairs such as roof fixes, accessibility modifications and essential safety improvements. Those interested in volunteering can sign up at RTCC’s volunteer page.

For those unable to volunteer, donations help fund materials and labor needed for critical home repairs. Contributions can be made online through the nonprofit’s donation page.

RTCC will also host community events in April, including a gathering with local businesses and additional opportunities for engagement. Residents can stay updated by following RTCC’s Facebook page.

To help residents assess the safety of their own homes, RTCC has created a comprehensive Home Safety Checklist. Download it today to identify potential updates or improvements. Download your free Home Safety Checklist here.
