On Feb. 5, deputies responded to Army Navy Drive in Mechanicsville, for the reported disturbance. Upon arriving contact was made with victim who stated suspect John Andrew Swieczkowski III, 22 of Mechanicsville, lunged at him with a knife during a verbal dispute. Contact was made with John Swieczkowski III, who granted consent for the deputies to search for the knife in his room. Once inside the room, Cpl. Milam observed a homemade marijuana bong, a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana residue/seeds and a small envelope with marijuana seeds inside laying in plain view. The knife was not located.
Further investigation revealed Swieczkowski III, did lunge at the victim during an argument. John Swieczkowski III, was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree assault and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
