“ Viva! A Night in Old Havana,”
Leonardtown, MD – Surrender to the rhythms and old-world charm of “Viva! A Night in Old Havana,” St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation’s annual Gala to be held Friday, Nov. 18. The annual premier formal event is held each year to help support MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, a non-profit, award-winning hospital which has served the community for more than 100 years.
This year’s Gala allows guests to experience the charm and mystique of a city known for its spicy cuisine and sultry music. The black-tie affair will begin at 7 p.m. and will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, a gourmet dinner by Ken’s Creative Kitchen of Annapolis, Maryland, and dancing to the sounds of Attraction. In addition, guests can purchase chances to win La Princesa, a 1.28 carat diamond pendant by award-winning designer Elma Gil, donated by G&H Jewelers.
Proceeds from the Gala benefit several programs at MedStar St. Mary’s. In 2016, foundation donations to the hospital funded five scholarships to students planning to pursue degrees in health care. In addition, the Foundation has made a more than $500,000 commitment to help expand and renovate the hospital’s dining area, the Atrium. The major construction projected is expected to begin in 2017.
