U.S. Congressman Steny Hoyer

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) issued the following statement on the antisemitic flyers found in Bowie:

“I was appalled to learn of the antisemitic flyers found in Bowie for the second time in a month. Acts of hatred are never acceptable and must be universally condemned. Maryland is a state founded on tolerance and welcome – and I am proud that our state and our communities come together in the face of attacks like these to reject racism in all its forms, offer support in the face of hate, and reaffirm our common commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Jewish people deserve to feel safe in our state and in our country, and I am glad that Maryland’s Fifth District is home to vibrant Jewish communities that help us make our district, state, and nation stronger. I urge law enforcement to take every appropriate step to find those responsible for these heinous acts of hate speech and bring them to justice.”
