Huntingtown Traffic Stop Leads To Alleged Discovery Of Prescription Drugs Hidden In Bra

HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — A Baltimore woman is facing misdemeanor drug charges after Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies alleged they found multiple prescription medications, including Suboxone, Clonazepam and Gabapentin, during a traffic stop in Huntingtown, according to court documents.

Heather Lynn Tingler, 42, of Baltimore, was charged in the District Court for Calvert County with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of an opiate without a prescription. Court records show Tingler was released on her own recognizance following her arrest on July 6, 2026.

According to the statement of probable cause, deputies responded at approximately 4:13 p.m. on July 6, 2026, after receiving a report of a vehicle being driven recklessly in the Huntingtown area. The caller reported a blue Dodge pickup truck was traveling southbound on Plum Point Road and was driving erratically.

Deputies later located the pickup truck and observed it make an illegal lane change in front of them before initiating a traffic stop for further investigation.

According to charging documents, while approaching the vehicle, the deputy observed the front-seat passenger quickly place an item beneath her right leg. When questioned, the passenger handed the deputy a Suboxone strip. Tingler was then identified as the passenger and removed from the vehicle while deputies continued their investigation.

Court documents state Tingler was asked whether she possessed any additional narcotics. She allegedly replied that she did. After being uncuffed, Tingler reportedly removed a cigarillo package from inside her bra. According to investigators, the package allegedly contained 29 pills, including eight green pills and 21 blue pills, identified as Clonazepam, a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance. Another Suboxone strip and seven Gabapentin pills were reportedly located inside Tingler’s purse.

According to the probable cause statement, Tingler told deputies she did not have health insurance and was not prescribed any of the medications deputies alleged were found in her possession.

Tingler is scheduled for an officer scheduling trial on Aug. 18, 2026, in the Calvert County District Court.
