Calvert High Schoolโs athletic programs gained strength recently when the Athletic Department received three pieces of commercial grade weight training equipment for its students.ย
The schoolโs Athletic Director, Brad Chris, accepted the donated equipment at Calvert High School in Prince Frederick on April 15, whenย Volunteers from the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department delivered a power rack, chest press, and shoulder press for the students.
โOur Volunteers voted to donate this equipment to one of the Countyโs high schools as school budgets are often a reflection of the tough economic times we are all enduringโ said Huntingtownโs Chief, Jonathan Riffe.ย โWe needed to find a place for this equipment as we are no longer in need of it due to the addition of much needed cardio equipment in our fitness room,โ added Chief Riffe.ย โIt was important to the volunteers of our department that area youth benefit from this decision.โ
