PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A man previously barred from Safeway in Prince Frederick was arrested after deputies observed him walking through the store’s parking lot. Marvin Charles Dickerson Jr., 41, was taken into custody on Feb. 25, 2025, after a Calvert County Sheriff’s deputy recognized him and confirmed he had an active no-trespass order prohibiting him from the property.

Dickerson was originally banned from the Safeway on July 19, 2022, following an incident in which he was accused of disorderly conduct, theft, and assault. According to court records, he stole liquor from ABD Liquors before entering Safeway, where he allegedly struck an employee in the face and stole their hat. Deputies found him intoxicated and yelling profanities, leading to his arrest and a no-trespass order barring him from returning.

This incident is part of a pattern of repeat violations. On July 19, 2021, an off-duty officer saw Dickerson steal medicine from the pharmacy area before fleeing without paying. Security footage confirmed he took two boxes of Coricidin, later admitting to deputies that he ingested them in the library bathroom to get high. He was charged with theft under $100 and trespassing and was placed on probation. However, he repeatedly violated the terms of his probation, leading to multiple court appearances and a brief incarceration.

When deputies encountered Dickerson on Feb. 25, 2025, in the Safeway parking lot, he was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. He was charged with trespassing and released on a $500 unsecured personal bond. His trial is scheduled for March 27, 2025, in Calvert County District Court.

In Maryland, trespassing on private property carries penalties of up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. Given his prior offenses, the court may impose additional consequences if he is found guilty.

Judge Robyn Riddle presided over Dickerson’s bail review hearing, granting his release. This latest arrest adds to his extensive history of trespassing violations, theft, and disorderly conduct, raising concerns about repeat offenders and the enforcement of no-trespass orders.
