PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Prince Frederick woman was arrested early Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, after deputies say she endangered her child and other relatives while intoxicated during a disturbance at a Cambridge Place residence, according to charging documents.

Deputy T. Deinert of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home around 1:12 a.m. for a report of yelling and a domestic disturbance. Deinert met Karla Yamith Rodriguez, 35, at the door, along with her sister, who appeared frightened and said Rodriguez had been acting erratically inside the residence.

According to the probable cause statement, Rodriguez became confrontational while trying to reach her young son, despite family efforts to keep him upstairs. When the child approached the stairway, she grabbed his arm and tried to pull him with her, prompting the deputy to intervene and detain her for the family’s safety.

Rodriguez’s sister told the deputy she had heard screaming and banging from downstairs before removing the child from the area. She reported that Rodriguez threw a glass plate in the bedroom where the child had been sleeping, punched holes in the wall and frightened several children in the home.

Court records show the disturbance occurred shortly after Rodriguez had been issued multiple citations in a separate DUI case earlier the same night. In that incident, she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence per se, driving while impaired, driving while impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol, negligent driving, and driving with a suspended registration. She reportedly registered a 0.163 blood alcohol concentration on an intoximeter test before being cited and released.

Rodriguez was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center following the domestic incident and charged with intoxicated endangerment, a misdemeanor under Maryland Alcoholic Beverages law AB 6-320(a)(1), which carries a maximum penalty of up to 90 days in jail and/or a $100 fine.

She was released on her own recognizance later that morning. A trial is scheduled for Dec. 12, 2025, in Calvert District Court, Courtroom 1.
