Julia C. Yannayonย 

Lexington Park, MD— On May 8, Maryland State Policeย Trooper Evansย responded to Jay Dee Court, in Great Mills for a reported assault.

Evans made contact with the suspect, who was identified as Julia C. Yannayon, 56, of Lexington Park. Yannayon was sitting on the front steps of the residence. Evans asked Yannayon what happened. Yannayon stated that she was assaulted.

Evans noticed when speaking with Yannayon the strong odor of an alcoholicย beverage emitting from her breath and person. Yannayon had trouble completing simple sentences and was unable to spell her name.ย 

Yannayon stated, “after she was hit by the victim she beat his ass cause she ain’t no bitch,” according to charging documents. Yannayon stated she was punched in the face and was bleeding. Evans observed no marks to Yannayon’s face nor was she bleeding.

Evans made contact with the victims who stated, “he was sitting in his living room in a chair, and Yannayon came out of her room and started punching him in the face,” according to charging documents.

The victim stated that he put his hands in front of his face to prevent from being assaulted, and he was struck in the left arm and left chest. Evans observed bruisingย to his left chest where Yannayon hit him.ย 

The victim stated that these types of incidents happen all the time when she (Yannayon) is drinking. The victim stated that Yannayon had rented a room from him for two years.ย 

Yannayon was placed under arrest for second-degree assault ย and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center.

At this time, Yannayon does not have a scheduled court date. Yannayon faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
