Janet Sue Williams passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 18, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to the late Walter H. Horn and Anna R. Redmond Horn.
Janet was the proud owner and operator of J & J Custom Stitching, where she was able to turn her love of embroidery into both a career and a creative passion. She found great joy in embroidery and took pride in creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces for others.
On November 4, 2001, Janet married the love of her life, James “Jim” Williams, in Tall Timbers, Maryland. Their life together was filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gerald Lee Tapponnier Jr. of Leonardtown, MD; Joseph Lee Tapponnier of Leonardtown, MD; and Jennifer Lynn Merson of Coltons Point, MD; and her eight grandchildren, Ezra, Nataleigh, Vivianne, Charlotte, Anna, Abby, Rainbow, Amelia, and River who brought great joy to her life.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Jim” Williams; her brother, Harry Horn; her sister, Elaine Clark; and her brother, Robert Horn
The family will receive friends on September 09, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
