On January 22, Deputy M. Green observed a 2007 Toyota displaying expired vehicle registration plates. Due to heavy traffic congestion, Deputy Green could not immediately stop the vehicle.
Deputy Green turned her police cruiser around and located the vehicle parked in the Bob Evan’s parking lot. The vehicle was occupied with the driver and front seat passenger, Joshua Joseph Yokley, 21 of Hollywood, both were still seated in the vehicle. As Deputy Green was conducting her investigation into the expired registration plate and verifying the driver’s license information, Sgt. Evans and K-9 Tuun arrived on the scene.
A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted. K-9 Tuun alerted and indicated the presence of a controlled dangerous substance in the front seat passenger area of the vehicle. Sgt. Evans and Deputy Green investigated further and located controlled dangerous substance and controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia on Yokley’s person.
Yokley was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (suspected marijuana) and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
