CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. – On May 25, 2024, many veterans, Gold Star families, and Marylanders gathered at the Veterans Memorial Park in Chesapeake Beach for the George W. Owings, III Stars & Stripes 2024 Ceremony.
Special guests who attended the event, which helped commemorate Memorial Day, included Brandon Temple, Calvert County Sheriff Ricky Cox, and former Governor Larry Hogan.
“This Memorial Day weekend, as we gather with friends and with loved ones, it’s important that we take time to honor the fallen and their families who have paid an unfathomable price so that we may live free,” said Hogan via a social media post.
