Clements, Md.– On Aug 2 at 6 p.m. the Southern Maryland community gathered around to witness the fastest lawn mowers on the east coast.

Bowles Farm plays host to this event, featuring all different classes of lawn mower racing, in addition to children play areas, kid tractor pulls and mini excavator challenge.

Tina Bowles and her husband are the owners of Bowles Farms, that host many different events during the year in St. Mary’s County.

“This is our 11 year hosting this event, we donate our farm to two wonderful organizations, it is a major fund raiser tor the Seventh District Rescue Squad and the Seventh District Optimist Club,” Said Bowles.

Ronnie Mattingly is the involved with both organizations that benefit from this event, he is happy to be involved with such a unique activity.

“We are really pushing the family-oriented aspect of this event. Look around what do you see, kids and that is what we love to see kids and families enjoying themselves.” Said Mattingly.
