PASADENA, Md. — A 50-year-old man from Arnold, Maryland, was arrested late Monday night, January 13, 2025, after Anne Arundel County police officers observed a suspected drug transaction in Pasadena.

Detectives assigned to the Eastern District noticed the activity around 11:55 p.m. near Outing Avenue and Duvall Highway, prompting an investigation. Officers approached the suspect, identified as Jerome Shelton Johnson, who was seated in a silver 1999 Mercedes sedan.

During a search of the vehicle, officers seized a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun, 13 rounds of ammunition, approximately 85 grams of suspected cocaine, 19 individually wrapped strips of suspected Suboxone, and a digital scale.

Police said Johnson is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to prior convictions. He was taken into custody and is currently being held without bond.

  • Firearm/Drug Trafficking Crime
  • CDS: Distribution, Etc., with Firearm
  • CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis (2 counts)
  • CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia
  • CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute
  • CDS: Distribution-Narcotics

Johnson’s arrest follows ongoing efforts by law enforcement to crack down on drug-related activity and firearm offenses in the region.

This case remains under investigation.
