LOTHIAN, Md. – On November 15th 2018 at approximately 8:09 am officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on Solomon’s Island Road near Old Solomon’s Island Road in Tracey’s Landing.

A Chevrolet Equinox was southbound on Solomon’s Island Rd when it lost control and crossed the double yellow center-line.  The Chevrolet was then struck broadside by Ford sedan travelling northbound.    

The driver of the Chevrolet, Caren Hardesty, 41, and  two boy passengers, ages eight and five sustained serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the Ford received only minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The primary cause of the crash was the Chevrolet failing to remain right of center.  Contributing circumstances are believed to be the current rain, snow precipitation.  The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.
