Lt. Governor Brown acknowledges Equal Employment
Opportunity professionals.

Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown addressed a full audience at St. Maryโ€™s College of Maryland (SMCM) July 9 for the inaugural Equal Employment Opportunity Retreat of state Equal Employment Opportunity professionals.

Lt. Governor Brown said, โ€œHow do you, how do we, make a difference? How do we bring about change? I believe the answer is simple: Through practical solutions; specific programs, initiatives, campaigns; and quantifiable steps (either big or small). Dr. Marian Wright Edelman once said, โ€˜We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.โ€™โ€

After an open discussion with the audience, Lt. Governor Brown toured the campus, viewing the new โ€œgreenโ€ Goodpaster Hall, which received a Silver rating from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, and St. Johnโ€™s Archaeological Site, among others.
