Chesapeake Beach, Md. — Fire crews were dispatched to a multiple-family residential fire at Camp Roosevelt Drive, off MD Route 261, in the Roosevelt Cliffs area early this morning. At around 4:00 AM, neighbors reported the entire house engulfed in flames, with crackling and popping sounds heard from the structure.
Responding units faced significant challenges, including snow and ice-covered roads complicating access to the site. Firefighters utilized alternative methods to lay hoses, including running lines through the woods for approximately 75 feet to reach the property.
At least one occupant was seen attempting to escape from the building, with initial reports indicating that all residents were safely evacuated. Crews continue to battle the blaze, working to prevent further spread and ensuring the safety of nearby homes.
Residents are advised to avoid the area while emergency services remain on scene. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
