At 9:50 p.m. July 27, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Mama Mia’s Pizzeria located at 12526 Mattawoman Drive in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery that occurred during a pizza delivery.
Investigation revealed the victim, a 17-year-old White Plains boy, made the delivery in the 100 block of Keepsake Place in Waldorf and was robbed at gunpoint as he returned to his car.
After a lookout for the suspect was broadcast, officers located a person matching the suspect’s description and identified him as Tyrell Antonio Campbell, 19, of Waldorf. Officers determined Campbell had committed the robbery and charged him with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime, first-degree assault, theft valued at less than $100 and providing a false statement to a police officer.
He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officers E. Baker and P. Sady investigated.
