On the evening of July 5, a Charles County Sheriff’s officer observed a traffic violation on Rivermont Drive in Waldorf.
As the officer initiated a traffic stop, the driver fled to the intersection of Rivermont and Fowler Court. The driver jumped from the car and fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance away.
The driver, Anthony DeWayne Hill, 39, of Waldorf, had open warrants including one for child support. In addition, he was charged with fleeing and eluding, and driving with a suspended and revoked Maryland driver’s license.
Hill was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. Officer J. Walter investigated.
