Man Assaults Officer After Being Escorted Out of Bar

On March 6, Cpl. K Moritz was on routine patrol at Dovovan’s Pub in California.

Cpl. Moritz entered the establishment to speak with the manager.  While inside of the pub Cpl. Moritz witnessed a disturbance.  The security from the pub was escorting Darvus Mennaze Gray, 27 of Prince Frederick, from the pub.  Once outside Gray attempted to re-enter the pub.  Cpl Moritz stepped in front of Gray and told him he was not to re-enter the pub, the management wanted him to leave.  Cpl. Moritz was in uniform and easily identified as a police officer.  Gray pushed Cpl. Moritz.  Gray was told he was under arrest and a struggle ensued. 

Gray was subdued, handcuffed and charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and failing to obey a lawful order of a police officer.
