Leonardtown, MDย – On June 8, Marylandย State Police (MSP) Trooper Mulhearn was on duty operating his patrolย vehicle when he responded to a report of a disturbanceย on Point Lookout Road.ย
The St. Mary’s County Emergencyย Communication Center advised one of the individuals involved in the disturbance had two active bench warrants.ย He was identified as Carl D. Moore, 30, of Tall Timbers.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was first on the scene and advisedย Moore had left the area. While Mulhearn was attempting to locate Moore in the area, someone matching Moore’s description was located walking down Chestnut Ridge Road.ย
When contact was first made with Moore, he advised his name was Greg David Grey. Mulhearn ran a check on the name, which did not yield positive results.ย
Mulhearn placed Moore under arrest for his two active bench warrants that had been confirmed through the MSP Leonardtown Barrack. Before Mulhearn conducted a search incident to arrest, Moore stated, “I have two weapons on me,” according to charging documents.ย
Mulhearn located a black baton found in the waistbandย of Moore’s pants and a knife located in the front pocket of Moore’s jeans. Also located during the search were two orangeย prescription pill containers.ย
Moore was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center,ย where he was charged with concealing a dangerous weapon, CDS possession not marijuana, CDS possession of paraphernalia and giving a false statement to a police officer.ย
Moore has a scheduled hearing set for Aug 23 in District Court. Moore faces a maximum jail sentence ofย seven years and six months and/or a maximum fine of $27,000.ย
