On March 1, Dfc. W Watters responded to the Leonardtown Burchmart for a report of a robbery.
Investigation revealed Lance Allen Jones, 21 of Leonardtown,reported he had been robbed by two individuals after a drug deal for Oxycodone went bad. Jones provided a description of the suspect vehicle which deputies located a short distance from the Burchmart.
Further investigation revealed Jones had actually stolen money from one of the individuals he was alleging had robbed him. Jones was chased by both individuals after it was discovered he had stolen money. Jones then contacted the Sheriff’s Office and reported he had been robbed.
Jones was arrested for theft and false report of a crime.
