Deputy Sarah Lacey conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported to 911 as “operating recklessly” in the Mechanicsville area. The vehicle continued without stopping for a long distance.
Once the stop was conducted the passenger of the vehicle immediately exited and came towards the Deputy. She ordered him to the ground as she could see a “black handle” of an unknown object in his waistband. The passenger was detained, found to be wanted out of Prince George’s County and identified as Gregory James Chenette (Age 46 of Waldorf Md.) and the black handle was a comb.
Deputy Lacey then ordered the operator to shut the vehicle off and exit the vehicle however the operator refused. A few moments later the operator stumbled from the vehicle and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
At that time the operator was identified as Claude William Peterman Jr. (Age 52 of Port Tobacco, Md). A search incident to the arrest revealed a marijuana cigarette that appeared to be soaked in phencyclidine (PCP) located in the cup holder inside the vehicle.
