Deputy First Class P. Handy responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a report of a stolen vehicle on Aug. 27 at approximaely 10 p.m.
Handy’s investigation revealed that on Aug. 17 atย approximatelyย 6:30 p.m.ย a 1993 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from Great Mills Lane in Lexington Park.ย Witnesses in the neighborhood reported seeing a stocky, white male with dark hair driving off in the Jeep.ย
As the deputy was talking to the complainant, a male matching the description walked past the deputy.ย The witnesses identified the subject as the person who drove off in the Jeep.ย The subject, Richard Eugene Briscoe, 29 of Lexington Park, was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and theft greater then $500.
