At 6:10 a.m. March 2, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of the road at the intersection of Glymont Road and Cedar Lane in Indian Head.
Upon arrival, Officer M. O’Shields observed a Buick passenger car in the middle of the road with its headlights on and saw the driver slumped over in the driver’s seat.
Investigation revealed the driver, Alvoid Wright Hamilton, Jr., 30, of Capitol Heights, was intoxicated.
Hamilton was arrested and a subsequent searched revealed he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle and improperly displaying vehicle registration. He was released from the Charles County Detention Center on his personal recognizance.
