Greenbelt, Md. — A man who pleaded guilty to firebombing a home in Upper Marlboro with Molotov cocktails was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.
On Oct. 19, 2014, Damien Travis Boddy, age 35, of Silver Spring, filled up several beer bottles with gas at a gas station and drove to a home in Upper Marlboro. Boddy then put on protective gloves and lit at least two bottles which he threw at a first floor window on the house.
Neither bottle broke the window but did cause a fire in front of the home. Prince George’s police later confronted Boddy in his vehicle and discovered a gas-filled beer bottle.

Boddy was found guilty ofย possession of an unregistered firearm and to transportation of explosive material with the intent to injure, kill or intimidate.
In previous years, Boddy had set the homeowner’s car on fire, then threatened to kill the person, according to court documents.
Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Chief Marc S. Bashoor praised the ruling by the federal judge.
