Mary Ann (Farrell) Grusholt, 87 of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on December 16, 2024, after battling dementia for over ten years. Mary Ann was born on November 25, 1937, to the late Joseph Arthur Farrell and Mary Ethel (Mattingly) Farrell in Newburg, MD.
Mary Ann is also predeceased by her beloved husband; James W. Grusholt, Sr. son; James W. Grusholt, Jr., and brother Joseph A. “Hoppy” Farrell.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Patty Gibson (Bernard), son; Joseph “Rick” Grusholt (Donna), sisters; Judy Moe (Gordon) and Joan “Peter” Lucini (Bob), brother David “Button” Farrell (Remee) and sister-in-law, Diane Grant (Bob). She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann worked for the US Soldier’s and Airmen’s Home in Washington, D.C. for many years, retiring in September 1995. She enjoyed her work in the procurement office and was proud to retire in a supervisory role.
Mary Ann didn’t have an unkind word for anyone. She is remembered for her kindness and patience. She was a voracious reader and also enjoyed dancing, traveling, cheering for the Washington Redskins, and participating in many activities with her local Red Hat Group.
