Throughout the month of September, the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack is collecting food donations for Marylanders who suffer food insecurity.ย We urge you to visit the Leonardtown Barrack with appropriate donations during this month long food drive.ย Many Marylanders, including middle class families, the elderly and the working poor go hungry every day as they struggle to make ends meet.ย ย Again, please join the Leonardtown Barrack as we fight to end hunger in Maryland.
The following food items will be accepted.ย Please note the Maryland Food Bank does not accept glass containers or medication.
Meat and Protein Items
Canned meat, ham and chicken, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned stews, canned tuna, salmon and sardines, nuts and seeds and dried canned beans
Breads & Cereals
Oatmeal, breakfast cereal, rice and rice cakes, pasta
Fruits and Vegetables
Canned fruits and juices, canned vegetables, canned soup, sauces and salad dressings
Dairy Foods
Evaporated milk, powdered milk, infant formula, puddings and custards
Non-food items
Diapers, wipes, toilet paper, plastic/paper plates and cups, sanitary napkins and tampons
