Arrests –
Fraud / Theft – On 01/06/2020 at 09:05 am, Trooper First Class Kaitz responded to the 3100 block of West Ward Rd. in reference to a fraud. Upon arrival, Trooper First Class Kaitz made contact with the victim, 60 year old caucasian male who advised he was contacted in reference to fraudulent prescriptions being issued from his practice. Upon further investigation, Heather E. Voithofer was in possession of the blank prescription slips that were stamped with the victim’s name. The victim stated that one of his stamps went missing while Voithofer worked for him. Voithofer was apprehended by Patuxent River Police Department and held until contact was made by Trooper First Class Kaitz. Her miranda rights were read and charges are pending.
Possession of Cocaine – On 01/06/2020 at 7:42 pm, Trooper Fraser arrived in the area of Solomons Island Rd. and Plum Point Rd., in Huntingtown, to assist Senior Trooper McCombs on a routine traffic stop. Due to multiple criminal indicators observed, both the operator and the passenger were asked to exit the vehicle. Once the vehicle was unoccupied, a K9 scan was conducted and a positive alert was given by K9 Carey. A probable cause search was conducted and a straw with a white powdery substance was located on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger was identified as Nicholas V. Haddaway, 39, of Prince Frederick. Haddaway was then arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. All of the controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia were processed and packaged at the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack.
Possession of Marijuana / Traffic Arrest – On 01/07/2020 at 12:58 am, Trooper Strong conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle on West Dares Beach Rd. in Prince Frederick. Once contact was made with the operator, Trooper Strong was able to positively identify the registered owner, who at the time was showing suspended and revoked. Upon initial contact, Trooper Strong also noticed the odor of raw marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana and paraphernalia. Russell H. Walker, 32 of Waldorf was placed under arrest for driving without a license as well as driving while revoked and suspended. Walker was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. All marijuana and paraphernalia were processed and packaged at the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack.
Possession of Marijuana – On 01/11/2020 at 1:43 am, Trooper Marsch stopped a vehicle on Rousby Hall Rd. in Lusby for traffic violations. Once contact was made with the operator, Trooper Marsch noticed the odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed a plastic medicine bottle containing marijuana. Jaleen B. Gross, 20 of Lusby was issued a Civil Citation and was released from the scene. All marijuana was processed and packaged at the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack.
Possession of Marijuana – On 01/12/2020 at 12:08 am, Trooper Marsch stopped a vehicle on H.G. Trueman Rd. in Lusby for traffic violations. Once contact was made with the operator, Trooper Marsch noticed the odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana and paraphernalia. Haley A. Craddock, 20 of Saint Leonard was issued a Civil Citation and was released from the scene. All marijuana and paraphernalia was processed and packaged at the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack.
Assault – On 01/12/2020 at 6:04 am, Trooper Marsch responded to the 300 block of Chestnut Dr. in Lusby for the report of an assault that just occured. Once on scene Trooper Marsch made contact with the victim, a 19 year old caucasian female who had blood coming from her nose area as well as a swollen nose. When asked how the injury occured, the victim stated the injuries occurred from an altercation she had with Joseph Michael Blakenship, 34, of Solomons, Maryland. However, prior to arrival, Blankenship left the scene on foot. As Trooper First Class Costello was arriving in the area for assistance, he spotted a male fitting the description of Blankenship walking on the shoulder. Trooper First Costello made contact with the male who was positively identified as Blankenship. Case remains open pending Second Degree Assault charges on Blankenship.
