ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. — Historic St. Mary’s City is preparing to host another year of MarylandFest, a spring celebration that brings together local makers, artisans and food vendors to showcase the culture and creativity of the Old Line State and is sponsored by Patuxent Dental.
The festival will take place May 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of Historic St. Mary’s City, Maryland’s first colonial capital and one of the nation’s most significant early settlements. Founded in 1634, the site preserves the history of the state’s early colonial period through living history, archaeological research and public education.

MarylandFest highlights the state’s rich traditions by featuring handcrafted goods, artisan products and locally inspired cuisine, creating an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. The annual event emphasizes community, creativity and regional pride, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with vendors and learn about the craftsmanship behind their work.
Event organizers are currently seeking makers, food vendors and artisans who bring creativity, flavor and fun to participate in this year’s festival. Vendors are encouraged to apply to help showcase the diversity and talent found throughout Maryland.
MarylandFest is designed as a family-friendly event that blends history with modern culture, allowing guests to explore the historic site while enjoying contemporary food, art and entertainment.
