Leonardtown, MD— Mayor Dan Burris of Leonardtown ย spoke to TheBayNet Friday morning, Jan.22, and urged people to make sure they are prepared for this potentially historic snowstorm.ย
“We contract out the snow removal to Bowles Farm and we have a project managerย Tony Wheatley, who calls in the contractor when needed. Wheatley met with the contractors last week to go over all the new roads and everything that we have this year.”ย
When Burris was asked what is one message he has for the citizens of Leonardtown, Burris replied, “Try and keep your cars off the road so we can get to all the roads. I personally am meeting with Mr. Wheatley to make sure everything is lined up.”ย
“During the storms I go around and tour the neighborhoods to make sure everything has been taken care of,” said Burris.ย
Just recently the Town of Leonardtown released a Twitter message to all the citizens in the town to be prepared for this storm.ย
According to the Town of Leonardtown’s Twitter page, “The Leonardtown Town office will be closing at noon today due to the projected deteriorating weather conditions. Residents are urged to stay in. Please use extreme caution if you must go out. To help with the snow removal please keep vehicles off of the streets if at all possible. Please stay safe.”ย
