On behalf of Lt. Governor Brown and everyone in the O’Malley-Brown Administration, I’d like to wish you a joyous Holiday Season.

The Holidays are a time to reflect upon our blessings and challenges, and to celebrate the spirit of community that connects us as One Maryland. It’s my sincere hope that you find time this holiday season to spend time with loved ones, reflect on our many blessings, and share what we can โ€“ whether food, money, or time โ€“ with those who are less fortunate.

While these are not easy times for Maryland families, our State is in a strong position to transition this recession to recovery and to prosperity more quickly than in other states. It’s been our great Revolutionary history in Maryland to set an example for the rest of the country; to prove that tough times don’t last, tough people do.

In the year ahead we will face new challenges, but we will also face new opportunities as economic indicators continue to show that we have turned the corner of recovery. We will continue to strengthen small businesses in Maryland, create jobs, and fuel the spirit of innovation that drives economic progress.

From my family to yours, Happy Holidays!

Martin O’Malley
Governor
