As a partner of Habitat for Humanity in communities across the country, Milgard Windows & Doors understands the power of joining forces to help those in need. So, when the the Patuxent Chapter approached Milgard about supporting its next project, the answer was yes. ย When Milgard learned that this project included a first-ever volunteer effort featuring nearly 100 Navy officers, the prospect of joining forces suddenly took on a whole new–and honorable–meaning.ย
In its seventh year as a recognized affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Patuxent Habitat has experienced a constant challenge in finding labor to build the homes.ย However, thanks to more than 90 current and retired Chief Petty Officers (CPO) from the Patuxent River Naval Air Station who have committed to the volunteer effort, Patuxent Habitat is able to build clean, safe and affordable homes for two families in the St. Maryโs and Calvert counties in a project which they call the Chiefsโ Build. The new military-Habitat for Humanity collaboration began on May 6th and will feature organizers, military volunteers and product suppliers and distributors working side by side to help build homes for two Maryland families. One of those product suppliers is Milgard, whose windows and doors have been installed by the Patuxent chapter in previous builds. And with the help of local distributor Dunkirk Supply, this time around is no exception.

With the goal of building ENERGY STARยฎ compliant homes, Milgard contributed their StyleLineโข Series windows, which feature the popular SunCoatยฎ Low-E glass.ย The Low-E glass saves homeowners money and energy by keeping homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter while reducing harmful UV rays. ย Engineered with the Milgard custom vinyl recipe, StyleLineโข windows are virtually maintenance-free and feature Milgardโs industry-leading Full Lifetime Warranty.ย
โMilgard is excited to participate in this ground-breaking initiative that brings together two of the most respected and honorable organizations in our nation to help those in need,โ said Jenny Ruttman, Marketing Specialist for Milgard. โCommunity action and support is an important part of the Milgard brand and weโre p
