MSP TROOPER 7 at Medstar St. Mary's Hospital

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A crash on Ritchie Highway during the evening rush Thursday left a motorcyclist critically injured and a passenger hospitalized.

Emergency crews were called at about 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 28, 2025, to the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Jumpers Hole Road after reports of a collision between a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Kia Telluride. Investigators said the SUV was leaving the Jumpers Junction shopping center and attempting to cross several lanes to head north when the southbound motorcycle was struck by the Kia.

The impact threw the Harley-Davidson across the median, where it came to rest in a northbound lane. The rider, a 30-year-old man from Pasadena, was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. His 31-year-old female passenger was taken to the same hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The Kia’s driver, a 56-year-old Millersville woman, and her two passengers — a 70-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman — were not hurt, police said. Anne Arundel County’s Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate.
