The PTSA at Windy Hills Elementary School will highlight National Preparedness Month by featuring John R. Fenwick at its meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the media center at the school, 9560 Boyd’s Turn Road, Owings.
National Preparedness Month is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security each September to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and schools.
Fenwick, the division chief of the Department of Public Safety, handles emergency management and safety for Calvert County and will provide information on what resources the county has in regards to emergency situations. He will also provide tips on home and family preparedness, including home kits, pet care and care of older family members or those with special needs
