The Tri-M® Music Honor Society, the honor society for secondary school music students, announces
the chartering of a new chapter at Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf MD, under the leadership
of Mr. Andre Dennison. Recognition for musical arts students at Thomas Stone High School is a goal
fulfilled for TSHS Seniors Becky Olsen, President and Korey Keyser, Vice President, who have been
CCPS school band members for 8 years and also participate in sports and other local volunteer musical
groups. This year 16 new members were recognized May 16, 2014 at their annual band awards
program.
The formation of this chapter signifies the school’s recognition of the importance of the arts in
the development of a comprehensive educational program. The Tri-M Music Honor Society provides a
means of recognizing the efforts and achievements of music students who volunteer their time and
share their musical talent with others. Since 1952, almost 5,000 Tri-M chapters have been chartered
in the United States and abroad, and current membership exceeds 50,000.
