Maryland State Police investigators have developed new information in their investigation into the death of a 26 year old Prince Georgeโs County man who was killed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Howard County.
On Jan. 9, shortly before 5:00 a.m., troopers from the Waterloo Barrack responded to the north bound lanes of I-95 south of Route 100 in Howard County, to investigate a body found in the roadway. The victim was later identified as Antonio Orozco Martinez, 26, of Landover.
Investigators released information concerning a vehicle possibly involved.ย The registration plate was identified as possibly โBARK 68โ and was displayed on a 1996 to 1998 burgundy Dodge Caravan.
A witness originally reported to police that the tag was โBARK 68โ, but investigators have determined that the tag was actually โ8ARK 68โ. Investigators said that two Maryland registration plates bearing โ8ARK 68โ were stolen from a vehicle in Prince Georgeโs County.ย One of them ended up being displayed on the suspect vehicle, a 1996 to 1998 burgundy Dodge Caravan.ย The second stolen registration plate is believed to be displayed on a dark colored Honda passenger vehicle, possibly a two door.
Investigators are continuing to follow-up leads in the case.ย The cause and manner of death remain unknown at this time. Anyone with information concerning the incident is urged to contact Maryland State Police Homicide investigator Sergeant Grant at (410) 290-0050 extension 115.
