MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks is launching a new Pickleball Ladder program this fall at John Baggett Park at Laurel Grove in Mechanicsville.
The program will run Monday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 14 and continuing through Oct. 19 at the park’s pickleball courts.
John Baggett Park at Laurel Grove is located at 26929 Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville.
Registration is open for players ages 16 and older.
The ladder format is designed to give players a flexible way to compete against others near their skill level. Participants are ranked on “rungs” and can move up or down based on match results.
Recreation & Parks said the program is designed for all experience levels, whether participants are just getting started or already have experience playing matches.
The goal is to help players improve their skills, meet others and take part in competitive but welcoming play.
The program costs $30 for St. Mary’s County residents and $35 for non-residents.
Registration is open through noon Sept. 11. The program requires a minimum of 12 participants and is limited to 16.
Julie Sharpe is listed as the instructor.
Registration is available online at https://tinyurl.com/3wryvf6k.
