For children throughout the tri-county area, August means only one thing, school is starting up soon. For some children, school starts earlier than others, but inevitably it will come.
Local retailers have prepared for the opening of schools and have set up a tax free week from August 9th through the 15th. The only restriction that this deal has is that in one visit, you cannot spend more than 100 dollars on one item of footwear or clothing to receive the sale.
The schools open up within the next few weeks, kicked off by St. Mary’s County returning to school on August 19th.They will be followed by Calvert County, which will be underway 6 days later, on August 25th. Charles County will be starting school last in the area, as they begin on August 31.
