LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Led by President and CEO Tony Crowdis and General Manager D.J. Diehl, Nissan of Lexington Park launched a new chapter in the dealership’s history on Aug. 13.

Open specifically to members of the Nissan family, but also the public, the dealership located under a giant American flag off of Three Notch Road hosted their Grand Opening and ribbon cutting.

“We’re celebrating our grand opening,” Crowdis said. “Took ownership about two months ago, and we figured we’d share with Southern Maryland, with all our future customers, employees… We just think it’s a special day for us.”

Although the team only recently decided to put their expertise as industry veterans to use after taking ownership of the Nissan dealership, their hard work has been paying off since the store has been open.

“We won the award of excellence two years running, one of the only Nissan stores to ever do it,” Diehl explained. “We were the only Nissan store to win it the first year they’re open, [and] year-over-year. So we have a lot to be proud of.”

While there were a few notable community members that came out for the ribbon-cutting, such as St. Mary’s County Commissioners Todd Morgan and Eric Colvin, there were also several outspoken fans of the Nissan brand.

Terry and Krista Duggan, owners of Ink Splash Promos in California, Md., who also worked with the dealership to create promotional materials for the event, gave raving reviews of the staff, experience, and products offered by Nissan of Lexington Park.

“We’ve been looking at a new car over the last year and had some pretty strict requirements on what we wanted,” Terry said. “And after doing our research, Nissan really nailed it for us. [We] came down here, they had one or two on the lot, and they just happened to have the one that we wanted. And it was a perfect marriage.”

But what Crowdis said he prides himself on the most is taking care of customers, knowing that’s what will bring someone back through their doors. He strives to be the best in the area and hopes to help take care of the community in the process.

“Our motto is family serving families, and I believe in that,” Crowdis said. “Nissan is really a step ahead of the game compared to our competitors… I couldn’t be more happy to be with Nissan.”
