GREAT MILLS, Md. — Emergency crews responded Thursday morning to a reported vehicle fire along Point Lookout Road near Dyson Building Supply, prompting a temporary closure of the roadway.
The fire was reported at approximately 10:12 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, in the northbound lanes of Point Lookout Road in the area of the business located at 20375 Point Lookout Road. Initial reports indicated the vehicle was fully involved and raised concerns that someone might be trapped inside.
Responding units later confirmed the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
As a precaution, Point Lookout Road was temporarily shut down while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and ensure the scene was safe. Traffic was diverted away from the area during the response.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
