MECHANICSVILLE, Md., — A North Sandgates Road tree fall blocked traffic and brought down powerlines near Bartlett Street Friday night in St. Mary’s County.
Emergency crews responded just after 8:20 p.m. on May 16, 2025. Officials confirmed that a vehicle struck the downed tree. According to radio dispatch, the driver declined transport and reported no injuries, though law enforcement requested the individual be evaluated at the scene.
The tree’s fall caused multiple hazards, including road blockage and powerline entanglement. Units from multiple stations responded to manage the scene and assess structural impact to the residence.
