WALDORF, Md. – On November 6, at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Route 5 at Post Office Road in Waldorf, for the report of a possible carjacking in progress.
Several witnesses called 9-1-1 and said a male was attempting to stop drivers at the intersection and take their car.
When officers arrived, they observed the suspect standing in the middle of the intersection. The officers gave verbal commands, but the suspect refused to cooperate.
Officers utilized an electronic control device and safely apprehended the suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of PCP.
In accordance with Agency policy, the suspect, Joseph Leroy Duckett, 55, of Indian Head, was seen by medical personnel before being transported to the detention center and charged with disorderly conduct.
On November 7, a district court commissioner released Duckett from the Charles County Detention Center on personal recognizance. Cpl. Wilson is investigating.

Another one released so he can go right back to his current lifestyle? Go ahead FOOLS; Keep voting those liberal judges into office!
“…liberal judges?” This is beyond politics. I’m not defending crime but this country makes thieves and then punishes them. Meanwhile the criminals that have siphoned away the wealth from 99% of its citizens have successfully used media to spread hate and disinformation because they know that if 99% of us unit to fight the minority that they are (corporations, politicians and the lobbyist that allow them to steal from us by using legislation), we can hold them accountable together and fight what they are doing to us by taking away social systems that make citizens , communities and the country stronger.
PCP is EVIL stuff. It is not fancy marijuana.
What do you mean by evil? I think evil implies malevolent intent… something a drug is incapable of. It will certainly mess you up and severely hinder your decision making, even causing you to do things you otherwise wouldn’t. (Ya know, like go for a naked walk down the street! Yes, this happens a lot!) But you’re right, it’s as different from marijuana as marijuana is to candy, although like marijuana and candy, they are often consumed together. Sherm sticks (pot or tobacco laced with PCP) are way more common in the ghetto than the trailer park so many times when people clamor loudly about PCP it is sadly just racism coming out. Not saying that about you Zander but just a general observation I’ve made. Also the term ‘laced’ is often used and/or misinterpreted to mean the user doesn’t know another drug is in the drug they intend to ingest. Drug dealers are not in the business of giving their products away. If you buy laced drugs you’re paying significantly more for it… nobody is trying to trick you into taking PCP. (Of course there’s no telling what somebody’s ‘friends’ might do for a laugh.) Most people living straight lives will not have run into PCP in the course of their existence so my post is intended to educate, not infuriate. Source: I’ve lived most of my life in proximity to drugs and drug users. I’ve worked at police stations and seen the effects of PCP use/abuse first had, both to the user, their family, and the community. I believe in order to solve the drug problem in our country we need to accept the uncomfortable truths about drugs, something the policy that I grew up with in the 80s very much did not accomplish. Anyone else grow up wondering why anybody would ever do drugs, ever? Nobody mentioned how good they can make you feel. What a discovery that was!
He is most lucky that he was not shot dead. There are a lot of legal gun carriers now.
This is why my thinking has changed on 2a… too many people would try to ‘defend their property’ which to me just seems like an excuse to use their gun on somebody. Let them steal your car or whatever and call the police. But when you have a gun in your pocket, well, you’re the man and you don’t have to take it lying down. But now a human is dead because you almost lost a thing you own. Human life, even that of thieves, is more important than anything you own. Even your dog. Hot take, I know, sorry. The frustrating thing from my perspective is it’s usually the 2a crowd who are also at the front of the line to defend the sanctity of life when it comes to abortion. Surprised they don’t get along better with AOC… they have the same level of consistency in their message.
