One Airlifted After Vehicle Slams Into Barrier In Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. — A woman was airlifted to a regional trauma center Wednesday afternoon, June 4, 2025, after crashing head-on into a barrier on McDaniel Road in Waldorf.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 2700 block of McDaniel Road around 1:15 p.m. for a single-vehicle crash. Initial reports indicated the vehicle had struck a barrier and the driver had not exited the car. Moments later, additional 911 callers reported a woman lying on the roadway near the vehicle. Authorities clarified she had not been ejected.

Medics assessed a 60-year-old woman at the scene who was conscious and alert but suffering from head, chest and abdominal pain. A secondary patient, a woman in her 30s, was also evaluated.

Due to the nature of the injuries, responders established a landing zone near 2300 Smallwood Drive West. Maryland State Police Trooper 7 arrived approximately 20 minutes after the request and transported the 60-year-old victim to UM Capital Region Medical Center.

The crash was cleared just after 2 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
