LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Earlier this evening, a serious collision took place at an intersection along Point Lookout Road that sent one to the hospital. The scene has since been cleared and the road has been reopened.

At approximately 7:13 p.m. on October 20, first responders were called to the scene in the area of Hollywood Road and Point Lookout Road for a serious accident. Upon arrival, crews discovered two vehicles involved in a crash with one driver trapped and unconscious. 

First responders on the scene were able to extricate the individual after approximately 16 minutes.

One patient who was also involved signed a refusal for treatment on the scene, and the other patient was transported soon after to the nearby MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for additional treatment.

The road was previously closed for an extended period of time, however, as of 9:04 p.m. the area and roads have been reopened.
